BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 48 Percent of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The first major bullpen shakeup happened in Miami with Anthony Bass out and Yimi Garcia in as the closer of choice for manager Don Mattingly. After Bass blew his first two save chances, Miami turned to Garcia who nailed down both of his save opportunities so far. In his last three appearances, Garcia has two saves and a win while allowing just one baserunner. On the season, he's sporting a 1.23 ERA, a 0.68 WHIP and just a 0.87 batting average against.
As impressive as he's been, fantasy managers shouldn't empty the FAB tank on Garcia. He has been in the Majors on and off since 2014 and we're still dealing with a small sample of him being a usable arm for fantasy. That being said, there's a lot to like about what Garcia is doing. His four-seam fastball is sitting at a toasty 95.7 MPH which is a 1.3 MPH increase from last season. The heater has a pristine .067 BAA and generates whiffs at a 34.4 percent rate. This helps his breaking pitches play-up which should lead to more strikeouts. Garcia should be rostered in 90-plus percent of fantasy leagues and is worth 10-15 percent of FAB in categories-based leagues.
