Yennier Cano is a fantasy baseball waiver wire pickup for closers and saves in Week 9 (2024). Cano is a good free agent waiver wire add for saves leagues.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 38% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: The Orioles have turned to Cano to close out games as their veteran closer Craig Kimbrel has struggled of late blowing multiple saves.
Cano has two saves on the season, both coming in the last two weeks since Baltimore moved Kimbrel into the early innings to work on building his confidence back up. Both Danny Coulombe and Jacob Webb may see some save opportunities, too, but Cano is the high-leverage reliever who is most likely going to get the most opportunities until Baltimore decides Kimbrel is ready to resume his closer status.

Cano had eight saves last season for Baltimore despite not being their full-time closer and finished his 2023 campaign with a 2.11 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. This year he's been solid again in the ERA department with a 2.14 mark and he's produced 18 strikeouts over 21 innings.
Grab Cano if you are desperate for saves, just know that his role is very fluid and could change at any point.
