ANALYSIS: Baltimore Orioles primary closer Craig Kimbrel has dealt with back soreness earlier in April and has not looked sharp since his return. Kimbrel holds a 13.50 ERA and 3.00 WHIP and was pulled from two consecutive save situations over his past three outings. As a result, this has opened the door for primary set-up man Yennier Cano to be in line to see some ninth-inning duties.
Cano was one of the best relief pitchers in baseball last year with a stellar 2.11 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 72 ⅔ innings. He tallied 31 holds and eight saves. The 30-year-old has carried his strong play into this season as he currently holds a 2.00 ERA and 1.22 WHIP across 18 innings. He tallied his first save of the season on May 4 after coming in to relieve Kimbrel of his duties.

Even if Kimbrel does return to his expected level of play, Cano could see more opportunities in the short term while Kimbrel works things out. This makes Cano a sneaky addition in all leagues as even if he does not tally a hefty amount of saves, he will provide you with strong pitching ratios.
