Baller Move: Add In all leagues
Owned In: 56% of Fleaflicker leagues
Analysis: After showing promise last year in his rookie campaign, Yasmany Tomas appears to be ascending to another level in 2016. After slashing .273/.305/.401 last season, he’s raised each one of those stats this year, also walking at higher rates and striking out at lower rates. He’s also already hit more than twice as many home runs as he hit last season, despite playing in one-third the number of games. Tomas' plate discipline has been an additional improvement, dropping his O-Swing% by five points. Perhaps the most encouraging sign of all from the 25-year-old son of Havana is that he’s hit better in May than he did in April. So many players start hot and cool down, while others do the opposite. Tomas has maintained his consistency thus far, which has been especially important to the Diamondbacks after the loss of A.J. Pollock. That he’s recognized as a two-position player in fantasy baseball is a plus for prospective owners. With his ownership now at 56%, time could be running out for many to add Tomas, who will surely be setting career highs in most hitting statistics this season.
