BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 59 percent of Fleaflicker leagues
ANALYSIS: Catcher, as usual, is a barren wasteland for fantasy owners. So it is that one can, face straight but heart heavy, recommend a man hitting .179 as an option for your fake baseball team. That man is Yan Gomes, who has homered in three consecutive games entering Tuesday's action. His 20 RBI on the season - for those counting at home, he has one more RBI than he has hits on the year - are tied with Salvador Perez for the league lead among backstops. His six homers are third, behind Welington Castillo and Jarrod Saltalamachia.
Gomes did hit .285 with 32 homers across his first two seasons with the Indians before taking a step back last year, and his BABIP currently checks in at a laughable .178. That's third-lowest among qualified hitters. Which is something else you can say in favor of Gomes - he plays almost every day. At this position, that alone is sadly enough to make a player fantasy relevant.
