DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on Yahoo
Cleveland Indians vs Justin Verlander
Hold on! There is a reason that the Cleveland Indians are the best stack on the board tonight over at Yahoo. Justin Verlander does have a solid 0.985 WHIP and 10.33 SO/9, but the Indians are a great team with reasonably priced power hitters and a few left-handed bats. Verlander is a right-handed pitcher. Focus on switch hitters Carlos Santana, Francisco Lindor, and Jose Ramirez, as well as left-handed bats Michael Brantley and Tyler Naquin.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on Yahoo
Chris Sale vs TB ($57)
Chris Sale is still looking to finally pick up a win. The Boston Red Sox are not hitting well when he pitches, but he will continue to pitch well and hope for a few runs. He has a great 1.019 WHIP and 9.411 SO/9. He also rarely allows home runs at 1.037 per nine innings pitched. Sale is expected to throw around seven innings, and the Tampa Bay Rays strikeout 0.268 times per at-bat. Sale is one of the safest pitching options available.
Lance McCullers at OAK ($49)
Lance McCullers is slightly less expensive than Chris Sale, and he has just as much upside. He is not as consistent, but this season, he has a 12.046 SO/9, so despite his horrible WHIP at 1.502, roster him in tournaments. The Oakland Athletics strikeout 0.266 times per at-bat. McCullers should win this game, as well.
DFS Infielders to Consider on Yahoo
Catcher (C) - Austin Barnes vs ARI ($9)
Austin Barnes has great splits against left-handed Patrick Corbin, and he should be able to pick up at least one hit tonight. He is very cheap and hitting at the bottom of a lineup that has quite a few great hitters. He could have multiple opportunties for RBIs.
First Base (1B) - Carlos Santana vs DET ($16)
Carlos Santana is too cheap on Yahoo, which is one of the reason that the Cleveland Indians make for such a great stack, even though Justin Verlander is taking the mound. Santana has a 0.127 ISO differential tonight, which goes to show his upside in tournaments. Santana rarely strikes out, and he is hitting first.
Second Base (2B) - Logan Forsythe vs ARI ($16)
Logan Forsythe gets a great matchup against left-handed Patrick Corbin. He is relatively cheap for the amount of power he has at a position that tends not to have much power. He is hitting first, which means that he will most likely see an extra at-bat tonight. The first batter tends to outscore all other batters, statistically speaking throughout the course of the season.
Shortstop (SS) - Jorge Polanco vs CWS ($14)
Jorge Polanco has a 0.104 ISO differential tonight against the left-handed Jose Quintana. He is hitting fifth in the Minnesota Twins batting order, so he should have RBI opportunities. Polanco has home run power and potential at a position that lacks power and potential. Roster him in all leagues.
Third Base (3B) - Miguel Sano vs CWS ($21)
Miguel Sano has a hard hit rate over 50 percent to start the season. He also has good splits tonight against the Chicago White Sox left-handed Jose Quintana. Roster him with Jorge Polanco in tournaments. He has great power, and he is seeing the ball well to start the season.
DFS Outfielders to Consider on Yahoo
Seth Smith at TOR ($15)
Seth Smith is a home run candidate tonight against the Toronto Blue Jays. Toronto is a great place for power hitters, and Smith has a 0.111 ISO and wOBA differential. He is hitting first, which means he will have ample opportunity to take Marco Estrada deep. His splits are also great, as he is a left-handed batter against a right-handed pitcher.
Steve Selsky vs TB ($7)
Steve Selsky is as cheap as it gets. He is expected to hit sixth tonight for the Boston Red Sox, and if he does end up starting, roster him in all leagues. The Red Sox score early and often, and a single could easily result in two RBIs in this lineup. Selsky has great upside, and he should hit value.
