With four games in Group C and D tomorrow, Saturday's showdowns are France vs Australia, Argentina vs Iceland, Peru vs Denmark, and Croatia vs Nigeria. Due to the multiple games being played, lineups are back to their normal constructions. Below we bring you seven players you should consider as World Cup DFS lineup picks for Matchday 3 (on June 16th, 2018).
Not all are top-tier options, as there is a range of DFS value picks, sleepers and high-risk players mixed in.
Consider all of these players for your DFS lineups tomorrow; however, at the end of the day, it is always your decision. Good luck, RotoBallers.
WC DFS Forwards to Consider
Lionel Messi - F, Argentina (DK - $12,700, FD - $13,000)
An easy pick regardless of the format, Messi is worth a shout at any price in your DFS lineups. With a showdown against Iceland, Messi will be hoping to come out with a bang, similar to Cristiano Ronaldo's performance today. It is more than likely that the Argentine maestro will be on the scoresheet this match, making him a must-have in GPP formats and an excellent Tournament player as well. Enough said, you need Messi in your lineups.
Paolo Guerrero - F, Peru (DK - $6,400, FD - $7,500)
A bit of an under the radar acquisition, the Peruvian captain is 34 years old and almost wasn't even in the team's squad due to trouble with FIFA. However, Guerrero made it and will be the Peruvian who is most likely to score in the game against Denmark. Guerrero has 34 goals for his country and has been a proven threat in front of goal wherever he plays, making him a very good Tournament play this weekend.
WC DFS Midfielders to Consider
Victor Moses - M, Nigeria (DK - $6,500, FD - $8,000)
Nigeria's best player, Victor Moses made a name for himself as a wingback for Chelsea this season. However, the Super Eagles wide man will play much further up the pitch for the national side, who find themselves against a tough but exploitable Croatian backline. With 11 goals in 34 games for his country, Moses is a very likely goalscorer in what will most likely be be a high-scoring match.
Lasse Schöne - M, Denmark (DK - $4,700, FD - $7,000)
As a central midfielder, Schöne contributes to his national side in both goals and assists. He has just three for his national side, but a steady career with Ajax has made Schöne the creative midfielder that his country needs. Playing behind Denmark superstar Christian Eriksen, Schöne is a very good Tournament play on DraftKings but also is a decent consideration on FanDuel in an otherwise shallow midfield position.
WC DFS Defenders to Consider
Henrik Dalsgaard - D, Denmark (DK - $4,700, FD - $5,000)
Although he plies his trade in England's lower leagues, Henrik Dalsgaard is still a starter for Denmark's national team and therefore is a good shout to keep a clean sheet if Denmark can be dominant over their Peruvian counterparts. Dalsgaard is a solid option as a fullback and has had a stellar qualifying campaign, making him a good shout on both FanDuel and DraftKings as a solid GPP play.
Birkir Már Saevarsson - D, Morocco (DK - $3,200, FD - $5,000)
If you are entering several Tournament lineups, any Icelandic defensive player is a good selection on the off-chance that Iceland can stand up to Argentina for 90 minutes. Although his upside is somewhat capped due to the gulf of skill between Iceland and Argentina, Saevarsson still is a good play at his value on DraftKings (although his price is somewhat high on FanDuel), making him a worthy selection in Tournament contests this weekend.
WC DFS Goalies to Consider
Kasper Schmeichel - G, Denmark (DK - $4,900, FD - 5,000)
If you are trying to stack a Danish defender with a goalkeeper against Peru, Schmeichel is a good value play at the position in a contest where most would go for Argentina's goalkeeper. Schmeichel may not get a clean sheet but should have plenty of saves and is on the team that is favored to win, making him a solid play in Tournament contests and a decent GPP consideration.
Good luck this weekend!
