With two games in the Semi-finals, today's showdowns are Belgium vs France and England vs Croatia. Due to the multiple games being played, lineups are back to their normal constructions. Below we bring you seven players you should consider as World Cup DFS lineup picks for Matchday 22 (on July 10/11th, 2018).
Not all are top-tier options, as there is a range of DFS value picks, sleepers and high-risk players mixed in.
Consider all of these players for your DFS lineups; however, at the end of the day, it is always your decision. Good luck, RotoBallers.
WC DFS Forwards to Consider
Harry Kane - F, England (DK - $10,600, FD - $13,000)
With six goals to his name thus far in the tournament and the easiest matchup of the tournament thus far against Croatia, Harry Kane is a must own option for GPP formats in today's slate. England has designated Kane as their penalty taker, with three goals from the spot so far this tournament. Leading the tournament with six goals throughout the the games so far, Kane is a fantastic option to have for owners who are willing to spend top dollar for top talent.
Olivier Giroud - F, France (DK - $5,700, FD - $7,500)
Although he has yet to find the back of the net this tournament, French forward Olivier Giroud has been a solid contributor to the attacking play of his side. Flanked by youngsters Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe, Giroud has a good chance to finally get his name on the scoresheet in what could end up being a high-scoring affair against Belgium. Consider Giroud as a good contrarian option with low ownership levels in this slate.
WC DFS Midfielders to Consider
Jesse Lingard - M, England (DK - $5,900, FD - $8,000)
Lingard, surprisingly, was one of the best players on the pitch in England's late victory over Colombia, as well as their victory over Sweden. With Dele Alli underwhelming throughout the tournament, it has fallen on Lingard's shoulders to be the main creative outlet for his side. If anyone will get an assist in the match against Croatia, it should be Lingard. Therefore, his value on DraftKings makes him a fantastic midfielder to get; on FanDuel, he is a very fairly priced solid midfielder.
Marouane Fellaini - M, Belgium (DK - $3,700, FD - $5,000)
Fellaini has shown up this tournament since his goal against Japan, even starting the Quarter-final match against Brazil and contributing nicely. At his price point, it's hard to find a difference maker in the midfield, making Fellaini a must-own Tournament option and a very underrated value play in GPP formats. Fellaini has the aerial ability to be a nuisance up top and has shown that he can be a slate-winner in this tournament.
WC DFS Defenders to Consider
Harry Maguire - D, England (DK - $3,800, FD - $4,500)
With the game against Croatia expected to be won from set pieces or aerial battles, Harry Maguire instantly becomes a consideration in both formats due to his aerial ability on both sides of the pitch. Maguire has scored two goals with his head so far this tournament, and there is no reason why he cannot add a third to his tally against Croatia in Wednesday's game. Maguire is a good, cheap option to supplement rosters in this two-match slate.
Benjamin Pavard - D, France (DK - $5,100, FD - $5,500)
France's revelation at right back this tournament, Benjamin Pavard scored an absolute screamer against Argentina in the Round of Sixteen, but has quietly been playing very well for the entirety of the tournament. Pavard has advanced up the pitch at will, opening himself up for crosses and even some long-ranged efforts. Expect Pavard to feature heavily in the game against Belgium, making him a premier defender to own across all formats.
WC DFS Goalies to Consider
Thibaut Courtois - G, Belgium (DK - $4,700, FD - $4,500)
With the highest potential for saves in the entire slate and one of the cheaper options on both sites this slate, Thibaut Courtois is a great option who is the most likely to get a high saves total for his team. With Belgium and France largely evenly matched in their Semi Final matchup, expect Courtois to have a high points total, totally justifying the cost of ownership on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Courtois is a good GPP and Tournament option due to his high potential saves as well as the chance of a victory.
Good luck this weekend!
