With four games in Group A and B, Monday's showdowns are Russia vs Uruguay, Egypt vs Saudi Arabia, Iran vs Portugal, and Morocco vs Spain. Due to the multiple games being played, lineups are back to their normal constructions. Below we bring you seven players you should consider as World Cup DFS lineup picks for Matchday 12 (on June 25th, 2018).
Not all are top-tier options, as there is a range of DFS value picks, sleepers and high-risk players mixed in.
Consider all of these players for your DFS lineups; however, at the end of the day, it is always your decision. Good luck, RotoBallers.
WC DFS Forwards to Consider
Mohamed Salah - F, Egypt (DK - $10,100, FD - $10,500)
Although Egypt are eliminated from the tournament, Mohamed Salah still has pride to play for against Saudi Arabia tomorrow. In a game that Egypt are expected to dominate, the Liverpool winger should be the best player on the pitch and will likely play a key part in any offensive contributions for the team. Therefore, Salah is worth the price on both websites in GPP formats and should be considered an elite option alongside forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
Fahad Al Muwallad - F, Saudi Arabia (DK - $4,800, FD - $6,000)
Alternatively, if you are looking for a contrarian play, Saudi winger Fahad Al Muwallad is a good dart throw in tomorrow's slate. Al Muwallad is one of the most electric Saudi players whose value cannot be ignored on both websites, specifically DraftKings. Keep in mind that Saudi Arabia may have their best shot at scoring some goals in tomorrow's match, making Al Muwallad's involvement a good risk-reward proposition for fantasy owners based on his price and upside.
WC DFS Midfielders to Consider
Aleksandr Golovin - M, Russia (DK - $7,000, FD - $8,500)
Golovin has been an excellent playmaker throughout the tournament, contributing with a goal and two assists in his team's opening match. However, he was mostly quiet last round, giving way to Artem Dzyuba and Denis Cheryshev. Now against Uruguay, Golovin will most likely be the main playmaking threat for his side, making him a good option ahead of tomorrow's slate in GPP and Tournament formats on both sites.
Joao Moutinho - M, Portugal (DK - $5,800, FD - $9,000)
Although Ronaldo is the primary set piece taker for Portugal, Joao Moutinho is the one taking corners; with Ronaldo's clinical heading ability, having the guy with the highest chance to provide an assist for the Real Madrid forward is always a good idea. Moutinho presents fantastic value on DraftKings and is probably correctly priced on FanDuel, making him low ownership option with fantastic upside.
WC DFS Defenders to Consider
Jordi Alba - D, Spain (DK - $5,300, FD - $5,000)
Spain's best fullback, Jordi Alba is likely to keep a clean sheet against Morocco and has the chance to provide some crosses as well as potentially get an assist or two in a game that Spain is expected to dominate. Alba is a good attacking fullback and one of the first names on the team sheet; it also helps that he is serving crosses to one of the best aerial threats in the entire tournament (Diego Costs). Consider Alba as one of the better defensive options in tomorrow's slate.
Raphael Guerreiro - D, Portugal (DK - $5,600, FD - $5,000)
Another solid wingback is Portugal left-back Raphael Guerreiro. The Borussia Dortmund man is a good option due to his attacking presence and penchant for getting further up the pitch. Guerreiro is a brilliant playmaker who is also capable of playing in the center of midfield; his versatility and Portugal's expected dominance makes him the perfect choice to be in your lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel, with a higher value on FanDuel due to his lower price.
WC DFS Goalies to Consider
Mohamed Al-Shenawy - G, Egypt (DK - $5,300, FD - 4,000)
A contrarian play in goal and a good option on both sites - but especially FanDuel - Mohamed Al-Shenawy has one of the best chances to keep a clean sheet as Egypt face a weak Saudi Arabia side. Al-Shenawy is a veteran goalkeeper who may be called to make more saves than expected but is still a good bet to maintain a solid stat-line in the goals allowed department. If you are strapped for cash or entering several Tournament lineups, consider Al-Shenawy as a good contrarian play who will almost certainly have low ownership levels.
Good luck this weekend!
