WNBA Daily Fantasy Lineup Picks (9/1/23): WNBA DFS Advice for DraftKings, FanDuel

WNBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball stock

There are three WNBA games on the schedule tonight. Up first at 7:00 p.m. ET, the Wings take on the Fever, while one hour later comes the big game of the night, as the New York Liberty play host to the Connecticut Sun in what's likely to be a preview of the WNBA semifinals this year, as the two teams sit second and third in the current standings with the season winding down.

If you're looking for WNBA daily fantasy picks and some betting advice this season, then you're in the right place. I'll be here providing picks for any slate with two or more games, offering my insight into the league.

In this article, I'll be providing you with some daily fantasy WNBA lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. These lineup picks will range from elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. The slates lock on 9/1/2023 at 7:00 PM ET. Want to talk more about the WNBA? I'm always available on Twitter and always down to discuss women's basketball: @juscarts.

WNBA DFS Picks: Forward

Alyssa Thomas (Connecticut Sun) @ NY (DK: $11,500, FD: $9,200)

No one fills the stat sheet up like Alyssa Thomas. The Connecticut star is a double-double factory, recording either a points-rebounds or points-assists double-double in four consecutive outings.

Last time out, Thomas had 12 points on 4-for-10 shooting against Phoenix while also adding 13 rebounds and eight assists in 39 minutes. It was the second contest in a row she had a points-rebounds double-double while also recording eight assists. It's pretty clear why she's the most dangerous DFS option in the WNBA right now. Everything Connecticut does runs through Thomas.

Dorka Juhasz (Minnesota Lynx) vs. ATL (DK: $7,300, FD: $5,600)

With Jessica Shepard out for this game, we'll see more of rookie Dorka Juhasz on Friday night. The UConn product has had a great first season in the WNBA, providing steady frontcourt minutes for the Lynx and averaging 5.8 points. 5.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.

With Shepard out last game, Juhasz played 22 minutes, scoring eight points on 4-for-5 shooting with six rebounds, four assists, and one steal. While she's not a huge scoring threat, she can get buckets when she needs to, and scoring in double figures for the sixth time this season is in play for her against a Dream team that doesn't have a ton of size up front right now.

Kalani Brown (Dallas Wings) @ IND (DK: $5,500, FD: $4,800)

Natasha Howard is set to miss Friday's game due to the league's health and safety protocols, something that should lead to more minutes for Kalani Brown and Awak Kuier. Kuier probably gets the larger bump in terms of additional minutes, but I think Brown's the more likely of the two to see a noticeable impact on the stat sheet.

Last game, Brown played 22 minutes, scoring 12 points on 4-for-5 shooting with three rebounds, one assist, and one steal. I could see her scoring being around there again, but with some added upside in rebounds and blocks due to Howard's absence.

WNBA DFS Picks: Guard

Rhyne Howard (Atlanta Dream) @ MIN (DK: $10,100, FD: $7,800)

I've said this a lot this year and I'll repeat it here. From an efficiency standpoint, the 2023 season hasn't been great for Rhyne Howard. She's improved from last year, but she's still shooting under 40% on the season. Per Her Hoop Stats, she ranks 84th in the league in field goal percentage.

But that isn't a big issue in DFS as long as she gets volume, and she has, as she's attempted double-digit shot attempts in 12 consecutive contests. She's scored in double figures in nine straight contests. It's fine to miss shots when it comes to fantasy as long as you're taking enough of them. Howard is. She's also adding plenty of value in other areas as well. Last time out, she had 15 points, seven rebounds, six assists, three blocks, and one steal.

Betnijah Laney (New York Liberty) vs. CON (DK: $7,700, FD: $6,200)

With Sabrina Ionescu questionable for Friday's game, there's a good chance that Betnijah Laney's in line for a strong showing on Friday night. Even if Ionescu suits up, her injury likely leads to slightly less usage than normal, which will benefit Laney.

Laney played 36 minutes against the Aces last time out, scoring 17 points on 5-for-10 shooting in the contest. She also added six rebounds, three assists, and one steal in the victory.

That was the fourth time in the past five games that Laney's scored in double figures, so even with Ionescu in the lineup, New York's asked her to get buckets. If Ionescu's out for this one, we could see Laney score 20-plus points for the third time this season.

Tiffany Hayes (Connecticut Sun) @ NY (DK: $7,500, FD: $5,500)

Hayes might not have a lot of explosive games, but she's consistently delivering solid numbers. She's scored between 11 and 13 points in six consecutive contests, for example.

Last time out, Hayes had 13 on 4-for-10 shooting in a win over Phoenix. She also added two rebounds, four assists, one block, and two steals. It might be rare for her to score 20-plus points, but 11 consecutive games scoring in double figures provides a really solid fantasy floor,
