WNBA DFS Picks: Forward
A'ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces) - vs. ATL - DK: $12,000, FD: $9,600
Wilson, who is arguably the MVP frontrunner right now, comes into this game on a heater. She's scored at least 20 points in six consecutive games, with three double-doubles over that span.
Last time out, Wilson had 22 points on 7-for-15 shooting against the Wings while adding seven rebounds, one assist, and six blocks. Those six blocks give her 10 blocks over the past two games, and it marked the eighth time in the last nine games that she had at least two blocks.
In her last meeting with Atlanta, Wilson scored 21 points on 9-for-16 shooting and added five rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and one steal.
Jessica Shepard (Minnesota Lynx) - @ CON - DK: $7,700, FD: $5,400
Shepard has now played three games since returning from an extended absence, and last time out against the Sun, she played 24 minutes, her most since she returned to the floor.
It was also Shepard's best game since returning from a statistical perspective, as she scored 12 points on 5-for-7 shooting and grabbed 14 rebounds. She also added two assists and one block.
Napheesa Collier (ankle) remains sidelined for this game, so expect to see the Lynx continue to rely on Shepard on both ends of the court.
Megan Gustafson (Phoenix Mercury) - @ IND - DK: $5,000, FD: $5,500
With Brittney Griner sitting out the last game for mental health purposes, Megan Gustafson played 27 minutes, her highest mark of the season. And she was impressive in those minutes, scoring 17 points on 6-for-12 shooting to go along with eight rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Griner is set to miss Tuesday's game as well for the same reasons, which should continue to give former Iowa Hawkeyes star Gustafson extended minutes. Look for her to score in double figures for the fifth game in a row.
WNBA DFS Picks: Guard
Sabrina Ionescu (New York Liberty) - @ LA - DK: $11,100, FD: $8,200
After scoring 31 points against the Lynx, Sabrina Ionescu's scoring numbers came back down to earth last game against the Sparks, as she scored 14 points on 4-for-10 shooting, with all four made shots coming from behind the arc.
But the thing with Ionescu is she doesn't need to score 25 points to have a strong DFS score because she adds value all over the floor. She grabbed six rebounds in the game and also dished out five assists, which marked the 10th game in a row that Ionescu had at least five dimes. She also blocked a shot and recorded a steal. She faces the Sparks again on Tuesday and should once again be a threat to fill up the stat sheet.
DeWanna Bonner (Connecticut Sun) - vs. MIN - DK: $10,300, FD: $8,000
Last time out—against this same Minnesota team—DeWanna Bonner scored 31 points, going 10-for-22 from the floor and also adding five rebounds, two assists, one block, and three steals.
That was the second game in a row that Bonner hit the 30-point mark, and it was also the fifth in a row that she recorded multiple steals. And just to keep piling on some stats here, it was also her sixth in a row with five or more rebounds.
The point of all that is that Bonner's a high floor and high ceiling play. She adds value all over the floor, and while she's had a few bad scoring efforts because her shot was off, like a 3-for-10 shooting night against Atlanta earlier in the month, she's usually able to put up some big scoring numbers.
Jasmine Thomas (Las Vegas Sparks) - vs. NY - DK: $3,300, FD: $3,800
Huge value opportunity here with Jasmine Thomas, who has seen a big increase in minutes over the past two games. Thomas was a big offseason acquisition for the Sparks, but she was slow to ramp up coming off an ACL tear, which has hurt her ability to get consistent minutes.
But with Lexie Brown out the last two games, Thomas has played 20-plus minutes in consecutive games for the first time all season. She hasn't necessarily done a ton with those minutes, but at under $4,000 on both sites, she's worth taking a risk on simply for how much salary space you can save and then allocate to other positions.
And it's not like she's been a complete non-entity in her minutes. Against the Fever, she had a solid showing, scoring eight points and adding two rebounds, two assists, one block, and one steal.
