BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 33% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Tampa Bay Rays infielder Willy Adames had a rough start to his rookie season, but he has looked much better since the calendar flipped to August. In 15 contests so far this month, the 22-year-old has slashed .354/.418/.604 with three homers and four steals.
Whiffs were a major issue for him early, but he has cut his strikeout rate almost in half during this hot streak. He is still hitting toward the bottom of the Tampa lineup, but his hot play will likely see Adames move up in the Rays' lineup. With a young core that includes Mallex Smith and Jake Bauers, the Rays will likely look to the future and the versatility of Adames will keep him in the lineup.
Considering that he has contributed with speed, power, and average, Adames is a suggested addition in most leagues. It is also a good thing that he is able to play both second and short, only further boosting his fantasy value.
