BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 12% of leagues
ANALYSIS: We've become so used to seeing top prospects immediately dominate in recent years that it can be especially difficult to see them struggle. Willie Calhoun did just that despite considerable hype, hitting a putrid .233/.283/.338 with just eight extra-base hits in his first 145 MLB at-bats. While that small sample came across two separate seasons, a player like Calhoun with no defensive value can only be successful if he hits. Combined with his middling performance at Triple-A last year, fantasy owners were starting to wonder about his long-term potential.
Though he no longer qualifies as a rookie, Calhoun is still just 24 years old, and he's looked great so far this season (again, with the caveat of a small sample). He's slashed .333/.373/.603 in 70 at-bats, with four home runs and 22 R+BI. A crowded roster might present some playing time issues, but the skills merit a bet here - and in almost all leagues, it'll cost you nothing but a waiver claim.
