BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues

ANALYSIS: Just because it was the first fact that I personally checked, and you're probably wondering if you don't already know; William Contreras, catcher for the Atlanta Braves, is the younger (and much-lesser touted) brother of the Cubs' Willson Contreras by about six years. William has watched Willson turn into a rock-solid two-time All-Star as the Cubbies' backstop, and he's well on route to carving out his own place in the majors.

Braves fans saw Contreras for just 10 AB in 2020, smacking three singles and a double in an extremely limited, yet successful sample size. Travis d'Arnaud controlled the catcher position in Atlanta last year amidst his Silver Slugger campaign, but it's now William's show after d'Arnaud hit the 60-day IL at the start of May, and while blue chipper Shea Langeliers is Atlanta's third-best prospect, he is a mere 53 AB into his first Double-A stint. In William's 59 MLB AB of 2021, he has already gathered twelve runs, fifteen RBI, seven XBH (one double, one triple, five HR), and a .237/.343/.542 slash. He's striking out at a 31.4% clip (not unusual for a relative newcomer), but he's talking walks at an 11.4% rate, and he's hitting for 54.1% hard contact at an average velocity of 92.8 MPH. Inconsistent opportunity slowed him down in his climb up the minor leagues (not unlike his brother), but when he's got it all together, he has proven himself an unusually versatile and disciplined bat for backstop. William Contreras has cast a wide net on offense, and with the statistical bonus of batting in one of baseball's most potent orders, he is a highly attractive acquisition in moderate-sized leagues.
