Trey Benson Fantasy Football Injury Update
Benson left their Week 15 matchup early due to an ankle injury he suffered in the second half. Leading up to Week 16, Benson was unable to practice all week and was eventually ruled out.
However, this week, Benson was able to return to the practice field, albeit in a limited capacity which is a promising sign. Although, he was unable to return to full participation, which may make it difficult for him to turn the corner in time for Saturday evening.
James Conner and Trey Benson are officially questionable after each logging three limited practices this week.

Throughout his rookie campaign, Benson has shown flashes at times (4.6 yards per carry) but has been limited to a reserve role, playing behind James Conner.
Trey Benson Fantasy Football Injury Impact
Fantasy managers should only consider playing Benson this week if fellow running back James Conner (knee) is ruled out. This would make Benson the clear top option during Saturday's game.
However, if Conner is able to turn the corner, and given recent reports, he is "trending in the right direction," Benson is likely to carry very little fantasy value this weekend. In the No. 2 role, Benson has averaged just 4.8 attempts per game.

While he may see a slightly increased role given Conner's injury, he is very hard to trust, especially in the fantasy championships. Benson should remain on your benches until kickoff but should be safely dropped in favor of another player on Sunday's slate if Conner is active.
