Will The Titans Trade Derrick Henry?
Twitter nearly melted down over the weekend with rumors that Henry was on his way out of town. However, that isn’t the case.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was on the Pat McAfee Show today and shut down all trade rumors surrounding the superstar running back.
However, which teams would be the best fit for Henry?
Which Teams Would Be The Best Fit?
The rumors started this weekend when Akbar Gbajabiamila tweeted that Henry was headed to the Philadelphia Eagles.
While the superstar running back hasn’t been traded to Philadelphia, the Eagles would be a nice fantasy fit for the former second-round pick. The team lost Miles Sanders in free agency. While they signed Rashaad Penny, that won’t stop them from adding a superstar running back.
Philadelphia could draft Bijan Robinson with the 10th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft on Thursday night. If that doesn’t happen, maybe they call Tennessee and try trading for Henry. However, that seems unlikely.
Meanwhile, the best fantasy fit for the superstar running back is the Titans. If it’s not broken, don’t fit it. Henry has arguably been the top fantasy running back over the past few years. He was the RB4 last year, averaging 17.9 fantasy points per game.
Henry was also the RB16 in 2021 despite missing nine games with an injury. The superstar was the RB1 on a points-per-game basis that year, averaging 23 fantasy points per contest. Furthermore, he had 10 rushing touchdowns in eight games. The 10 rushing touchdowns were the sixth most among running backs in 2021.
While Henry might not have 4-5 more elite fantasy years left in his career, the superstar running back belongs in Tennessee.
