Baltimore Ravens running back J.K. Dobbins was the 55th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Dobbins had an excellent college career, totaling 725 rushing attempts for 4,459 yards and 38 touchdowns during his three years at Ohio State. Furthermore, the former Buckeye had 71 receptions for 645 receiving yards and five touchdowns in college.
More importantly, Dobbins had an impressive rookie season. The former Ohio State star had 134 rushing attempts for 805 yards and nine touchdowns in 2020. Furthermore, he averaged six yards per rushing attempt that year, leading all running backs. Dobbins also had 18 receptions on 24 targets for 120 receiving yards as a rookie.
Unfortunately, the star running back suffered a torn ACL during the 2021 preseason. The injury forced Dobbins to miss the entire season.

What Did J.K. Dobbins Accomplish In 2022?
Despite not starting the year on the physically-unable-to-perform list, the former Ohio State star missed the first two games last season because of the knee injury. However, Dobbins returned in Week 3 and was solid in limited touches. The third-year running back averaged 3.5 yards per rushing attempt in his first four games last year.
However, Dobbins had a follow-up surgery after the Week 6 matchup and missed the next six games. While the Ravens missed their star running back on the field, the former Buckeye returned in Week 13.
Dobbins was outstanding to end the regular season, totaling 57 rushing attempts for 397 yards and a touchdown. More importantly, the star running back averaged seven yards per rushing attempt and had at least 93 rushing yards in three of those contests.
Will The Ravens Sign J.K. Dobbins To A Contract Extension?
The former Ohio State star is entering the final year of his rookie deal. Unfortunately, Dobbins hasn’t participated in the team’s mandatory minicamp because of his contract.
While the star running back was excellent to end last year, Baltimore has no reason to give him a contract extension this offseason. The team has to be worried about his long-term health. After only missing one game as a rookie because of COVID-19, Dobbins has missed 76.5% of the games over the past two years because of the knee injury.
Hopefully, the star running back realizes he won’t receive a contract extension this offseason and uses that as motivation to have a career year in 2023.
