Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs was the 24th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Jacobs had a productive college career, totaling 251 rushing attempts for 1,491 yards and 16 touchdowns in three years at Alabama. He also had 48 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns in college.

More importantly, the former Alabama star had an impressive rookie season. Jacobs had 242 rushing attempts for 1,150 yards and seven touchdowns in 2019. Furthermore, the young running back had another productive year in 2020, totaling 273 rushing attempts for 1,065 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Unfortunately, Jacobs regressed the following year. He had 217 rushing attempts for 872 yards and nine touchdowns that season. However, the former Alabama star had a breakout year in 2022, totaling 340 rushing attempts for 1,653 yards and 12 touchdowns. He led the NFL in rushing yards and scrimmage yards (2,053) last year.

Will The Raiders Trade Josh Jacobs?

Following his breakout year last season, the Raiders placed the franchise tag on Jacobs. However, they never showed much interest in working out a long-term deal.

The lack of long-term conversation made Jacobs unhappy. The superstar running back hasn’t reported to training camp. While he will reportedly show up before Week 1, Jacobs is on my do-not-draft list this year.

Meanwhile, Las Vegas reportedly has shown no interest in trading Jacobs.

Which Teams Would Be A Good Fit For Josh Jacobs?

However, the acronym NFL stands for Not For Long. The Raiders could change their mind at any point and trade the star running back once he signs the franchise tag.

Any team that trades for the former Alabama star would get an excellent running back. Last year, Jacobs made the Associated Press All-Pro First Team. He also finished fifth in the Offensive Player of the Year award race after finishing fifth in the NFL with 12 rushing touchdowns.

There isn’t an ideal fit at this point of the offseason, as every team has the core of their roster set. However, one off-the-radar fit would be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Buccaneers released Leonard Fournette earlier this offseason. They didn’t add a significant running back, making Rachaad White the featured guy. However, the second-year running back struggled as a rookie. Jacobs would be the clear-cut starter in Tampa Bay. He would also push White back to his ideal role as the No. 2 running back.
