Green Bay Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard was an undrafted free agent in 2018. During his four years at Iowa State, Lazard had 3,360 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns. Furthermore, he had almost 2,000 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns over his final two years.
Despite his productive college career, the former Iowa State receiver went undrafted. However, he found a home with the Packers. After a quiet rookie year, Lazard became a rotational wide receiver for Green Bay. He had 928 receiving yards and six touchdowns over his next two seasons.
The former Iowa State star took a massive step forward in his development in 2021. Lazard had a career-high eight receiving touchdowns that year. In 2022, the veteran took over as the No. 1 wide receiver in Green Bay when Davante Adams got traded. Lazard ended the year with a career-high 60 receptions for 788 receiving yards.

Will The Packers Re-Sign Allen Lazard?
Lazard was a restricted free agent last offseason. He signed his one-year tender and had a career year in 2022. However, the veteran will have a new home next season. Reportedly, Lazard wants a deal in the $15-17 million a year range. Meanwhile, PFF projects the former Iowa State receiver to earn a new contract in the $11 million-a-year ballpark.
Whether Lazard earns the $15-17 million a year he wants or the $11 million PFF projects, the former undrafted free agent won’t be back in Green Bay next season.
Which Team Could Sign Allen Lazard This Offseason?
Over the past few weeks, the Chicago Bears have been floated around as Lazard’s most likely landing spot. Despite adding Chase Claypool at the trade deadline, the Bears still need help at wide receiver. Meanwhile, Chicago’s offensive coordinator Luke Getsy was with the Packers two years ago.
However, another potential landing spot is the New York Giants. They found a gem in Isaiah Hodgins, as the former Oregon State receiver had a solid year in New York and an excellent playoff debut.
While he and Wan’Dale Robinson are pieces for the future, the Giants have an awful wide receiver room. Lazard won’t make the unit elite, but he will provide them with a veteran on the outside. Unless the team has plans to trade for Tee Higgins or Brandon Aiyuk, adding Lazard would be a wise move.
