Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs will be an unrestricted free agent after the end of the upcoming NFL season. There have been new reports that state that the Cowboys have begun negotiations about a contract extension with Diggs.
The 24-year-old cornerback was drafted with the 59th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and has since become an integral part of the Cowboys defense. He is one of the best cornerbacks in the league and deserves to get paid handsomely.
The Cowboys cornerback is predicted to earn over $20 million annually following his contract extension, and he could become the highest-paid player at his position. Currently, Jaire Alexander of the Green Bay Packers is the highest-paid CB in the NFL, and he earns $21 million per year.

How Did Trevon Diggs Play Last Season?
Trevon Diggs didn't have the same amount of interceptions last season as he did in 2021, but he did have a pretty solid season. He finished the season with 50 solo tackles, nine assisted tackles, one fumble recovery, 14 passes deflected, and three interceptions in 17 games.
Last season, the Cowboys had one of the top defenses in the NFL, and with the additions of Stephon Gilmore and Mazi Smith, they have strengthened their defense even further. This will allow Diggs to be more effective in the secondary.
Should Fantasy Managers Target Trevon Diggs?
Fantasy managers should definitely look to get Trevon Diggs for their team, as his production is quite likely to increase in the upcoming season. As stated earlier, the addition of Stephon Gilmore will help him a lot.
Moreover, if the Cowboys give him a contract extension before the season, it will further help him to focus on the field, and he will be able to play his best football. The Cowboys are primed to make another deep playoff run next season, and Diggs will be key to it.
