All throughout the 2022 NFL season the rumors were flying that veteran receiver Odell Beckham Jr. would end up with a star on his helmet.
Beckham’s famous “free agency tour,” which included stops with the New York Giants, Buffalo Bills, and Dallas Cowboys, wound up without a deal as Beckham ended up sitting out the entire 2022 season coming off of a torn ACL and will seek a more guaranteed deal in 2023.
With Beckham looking to return to football after a season off, the rumors have heated back up about a possible landing spot in Dallas. Will the Cowboys sign Odell?

Is Odell Beckham Jr. A Good Fit For The Cowboys?
With Dalton Schultz headed to free agency and Michael Gallup constantly battling injuries, it is safe to say that the Cowboys could use another pass catcher to pair with CeeDee Lamb. Is Beckham the right guy for the job? The veteran failed to top 550 yards in each of his last two seasons.
While he struggled in Cleveland, Beckham was extremely productive on the Rams’ playoff run en route to the Super Bowl where he scored the game-opening touchdown but then proceeded to tear his ACL. His career was starting to feel resurrected while averaging over five receptions for 72 yards during the stretch, but he has yet to return to football.
While Dallas has a clear need at receiver and Beckham is clearly available, the whispers won’t be slowing down anytime soon.
Beckham is likely seeking more than just a one-year deal which is risky given his age and return from the injury, however, Jerry Jones is no slouch when it comes to bringing in big-name players to wear the star.
Signing Beckham would be risky for Dallas given his diva nature, injury history, and age, but could pay off immensely if he slots in in Rams playoff form both on the field and off.
Will The Cowboys Sign Odell Beckham Jr.?
After last season’s free agency saga, nobody would be surprised if Beckham stepped away from football for good. Returning from an ACL injury at his age is no easy task.
However if the Cowboys can get Beckham to come to town on a smaller, shorter contract, they absolutely should and likely would pull the trigger. Adding a receiver is a necessity in Dallas this offseason, but they should not overpay for Beckham. They should consider him a luxury signing like he was in Los Angeles in 2021.
If Dallas is going to pay for a receiver this offseason, they should look in the direction of DeAndre Hopkins rather than Odell Beckham Jr. Hopkins is reportedly on the trade block and has shown he has much left in the tank with his 64 catch, 717 yard, three touchdown outing in nine games in 2022 with inconsistent quarterback play. A receiver pairing of Hopkins and Lamb would make more sense than pairing Beckham with Lamb.
