Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was the No. 17 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and after three stellar seasons for America's Team, he's eligible for a contract extension this offseason.
However, it's not a foregone conclusion that he'll be extended just yet, but we have the latest news on the development.
How has Lamb played thus far and what could his contract be worth? Let's dive in.
CeeDee Lamb Career Review
In 48 games over three seasons, Lamb has hauled in 260 passes for 3,396 yards and 20 touchdowns. He was a high-level No. 2 option as a rookie playing alongside Amari Cooper in 2020, posting 74 receptions for 935 yards and five touchdowns.
He became Dak Prescott's No. 1 WR in 2021, posting his first 1,000-yard season, then exploded with Cooper gone in 2023 with 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns. Needless to say, he's lived up to his first-round status and has done a tremendous job representing the No. 88 previously worn by Drew Pearson and Michael Irvin in Dallas.
What Could Lamb's Contract Be Worth?
According to Spotrac.com, Lamb's projected market value is in the neighborhood of $22.5 million annually or a four-year, $90.38 million deal. This would put his salary just above A.J. Brown and DK Metcalf, trailing only Tyreek Hill, Davante Adams, and Cooper Kupp. Given his resume and the fact that he just turned 24 years old in April -- those figures are appropriate.
Ultimately, Dallas will likely extend him, but Lamb said he's in no rush to get the deal done. "I'm not even distracted," Lamb said. "The money, definitely worried about it, but it's not something that's on my mind every day or when I come to the building. It's really all about coming in, showing my worth, and letting everything else handle itself."
It'll be interesting to see what his extension is worth, especially since Vikings superstar wideout Justin Jefferson is also eligible for a massive contract this offseason.
