Will The Colts Trade Jonathan Taylor?
The superstar running back has been the focal point of the NFL news world for the past several weeks. Taylor wants a contract extension or to get traded to a team that will give him a long-term contract. Owner Jim Irsay has refused to negotiate a long-term contract or explore trade possibilities.
However, the Colts gave the superstar running back permission to seek a trade earlier today.
Which Teams Would Be A Good Fit For Jonathan Taylor?
Some believe Indianapolis is letting Taylor explore the trade market in an attempt to lower the price of his contract demands. However, the Colts reportedly have a significant asking price for the superstar running back. The team wants a first-round pick or a package of draft capital that equates to a first-round selection in exchange for Taylor.
Week 1 of the regular season kicks off in under three weeks, meaning a trade might be hard to complete before open night. However, the most likely landing spot is the Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins’ third-round rookie De’Von Achane suffered a shoulder injury in the team’s preseason game over the weekend. Reportedly Miami is interested in the superstar running back. Furthermore, they have a history of parting with first-round draft picks.
They traded a first-round pick to move up for Jaylen Waddle in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Dolphins also gave up first-round selections for Tyreek Hill and Bradley Chubb.
