The Cleveland Browns are one of the worst franchises in the NFL. They have had awful luck at the quarterback position.
Cleveland has started 40 quarterbacks since returning to the league in 1999. The latest quarterback to start for the Browns was Bailey Zappe in Week 18 this season.
Unfortunately, the team finished the year with a 3-14 record, earning the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Will they draft a quarterback with the No. 2 pick?

Cleveland Browns Current Quarterback Situation
Unfortunately, Cleveland has arguably the worst quarterback situation in the NFL. They traded the farm for Deshaun Watson during the 2022 offseason. However, the former superstar quarterback has been awful for the Browns, totaling 19 passing touchdowns in 19 games.
Watson has played in seven or fewer contests every year in Cleveland because of suspension or injury. He suffered a torn Achilles this year, ending his season after seven games. Unfortunately, the veteran recently ruptured his Achilles again, likely forcing him to miss all of the 2025 season. With Jameis Winston being an upcoming free agent, the Browns have limited options at the quarterback position.
Sources: #Browns QB Deshaun Watson ruptured his Achilles again, further testing showed, and he had another surgery on Thursday to repair it.

Will The Cleveland Browns Draft A Quarterback With The No. 2 Pick?
The 2025 NFL Draft class lacks an elite quarterback prospect. Last year, there were three elite quarterback prospects, with Caleb Williams, Jayden Daniels, and Drake Maye being the first three picks. However, the Browns will have appealing options with the No. 2 overall selection.
Cleveland can select Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders or Miami’s Cam Ward. While Sanders got more national attention, Ward finished higher in the Heisman Award race. The former Miami star completed 67.2% of his pass attempts for 4,319 yards and an FBS-high 39 touchdowns in 2024.

Expect the Browns to consider drafting Sanders or Ward with their first-round pick.
