The Arizona Cardinals released star receiver DeAndre Hopkins on May 26th, 2023. Despite serving a six-game suspension for PEDs along with two more games missed due to injury, Hopkins finished the 2022 season with 64 receptions for 717 yards and three touchdowns.
Hopkins has battled injuries over the past two seasons but still looks like the five-time Pro-Bowler that he is when on the field. Wherever he lands, he is sure to be an impactful addition to any receiver room as a talented veteran.
One team that has been rumored as a landing spot for Hopkins is the Cleveland Browns. While they did add former Jets receiver Elijah Moore and drafted Tennessee product Cedric Tillman in the third round, Cleveland would certainly be happy with an Amari Cooper/DeAndre Hopkins duo. Could the Browns add Hopkins to the roster?

Will The Browns Sign DeAndre Hopkins?
Right after he was released, rumors began to fly linking Hopkins to the Cleveland Browns. Given that his former quarterback, Deshaun Watson, is in Cleveland, the rumors made sense and betting odds adjusted.
Watson has vocally expressed his interest in adding Hopkins to the team.
Even current Browns WR1 Amari Cooper was not upset by Watson’s statements.
Despite all the recent smoke linking the two sides, there has not been any public traction between Hopkins and the Browns.
What Other Teams Might Sign DeAndre Hopkins?
Hopkins has scheduled his first free-agent visit and will be flying out to Nashville on Sunday to meet with the Tennessee Titans.
Tennessee’s receiver room is extremely thin behind second-year Treylon Burks, so this landing spot would make sense and would likely make Hopkins a very intriguing fantasy option due to the potential for an elite target share.
Another team that has been linked to Hopkins since trade rumors started to fly last season is the New England Patriots. With the Patriots’ receiver room also lacking in experience behind JuJu Smith-Schuster, Hopkins could step in as the WR1 immediately.
Hopkins did name Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Justin Herbert as quarterbacks that he would like to play with.
While this means nothing until the front offices of these respective teams decide to go in on him, it sure is interesting from a fantasy perspective to imagine Hopkins playing in Buffalo or Kansas City.
