Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton has put together a solid career. The former SMU star receiver was a second-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Broncos.
Sutton played well to start his career, totaling 114 receptions on 208 targets for 1,816 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns over the first two years. Unfortunately, the young receiver played only one game in 2020 because of a torn ACL. Since returning from the injury, the former SMU star has struggled.
Over the past two years, Sutton has totaled 122 receptions on 207 targets for 1,605 receiving yards and only four touchdowns. Furthermore, the four receiving touchdowns are two fewer than his total in the 2019 season. While his struggles have been partly because of poor quarterback play, Sutton has only one season with over 830 receiving yards in his career.

Will The Broncos Trade Courtland Sutton?
Denver has been busy this offseason. They traded for Sean Payton after the Nathaniel Hackett experiment failed. The Broncos have also been active in free agency today, signing two offensive linemen.
Yet, they are far from done. Denver has had talks with multiple teams about their wide receiver core. Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, and KJ Hamler are all available in trade talks. However, the team won’t give them away.
Which Teams Would Be The Best Fit For Courtland Sutton?
The Broncos are an appealing fantasy spot for Sutton if Russell Wilson returns to his former MVP level of play. However, the wide receiver room is crowded. Not only are Jeudy and Hamler there, but Tim Patrick is returning from a torn ACL that cost him the 2022 season.
While Denver has shown no signs of wanting to trade Sutton unless they are blown away with an offer, the veteran receiver seems like he wants a fresh start elsewhere.
If the Broncos trade the former SMU star, there will be a handful of appealing landing spots. One potential spot is the Carolina Panthers. They recently sent DJ Moore to the Chicago Bears as part of the deal to acquire the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Carolina’s wide receiver room is very inexperienced and underwhelming.
Another potential landing spot is the New England Patriots. Jakobi Meyers is a free agent and might not return. Even if he is back with the team, the Patriots lack a No. 1 caliber wide receiver on the outside.
