New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas has dealt with more than his fair share of injuries over the past few seasons, but since he's back with the Saints for 2023, he will have at least some fantasy football intrigue.
Thomas and the rest of the Saints pass-catchers received a quarterback upgrade this offseason, so the fantasy values of all the players on offense could see a nice boost in 2023.
Will Thomas be ready to play in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season? What is his potential fantasy football value and outlook? We'll get to it all below!

Michael Thomas Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Saints head coach Dennis Allen said that Thomas (toe) is making progress in his recovery, but he's not 100 percent yet and the team is going to be cautious with him in the offseason. Thomas and the Saints restructured his contract to keep him around in 2023 after he missed the final three months of the 2022 season with a dislocated toe.
Since he had a league-high 1,725 receiving yards on 149 catches in 2019, the 30-year-old pass-catcher has fallen off a cliff due to injuries. Thomas missed the entire 2021 season and played in a combined 10 games in 2020 and 2022.
It's unclear whether or not he'll be available for Week 1, but it's a positive sign the Saints believed in him enough to bring him back and are letting him heal properly.
Michael Thomas 2023 Fantasy Outlook
While Thomas feels like a gross fantasy selection for 2023, he won't be expensive to throw a dart at in fantasy drafts. In early Best Ball ADP via 4for4.com, Thomas is being drafted around the WR99 spot -- meaning he'll go undrafted in shallow redraft formats.
Since Carr is now in town and Chris Olave is the only significant target competition (so far), a late-round draft choice on Thomas could make sense. At that spot, all you hope for is a decent plug-in flex play. The passing volume should be up and the Saints' offense should score plenty of points in 2023, so there are some things to like. However, if New Orleans adds a ton of wide receiver depth in the 2023 NFL Draft, his value will take a hit.
Ultimately, he's far removed from being an elite fantasy wideout, but he could have nice value as a solid WR4 or WR5 on your 2023 roster.
