Arizona Cardinals franchise quarterback Kyler Murray went down with a torn ACL during the team's Week 14 Monday Night Football loss to the New England Patriots. Major injuries late in the season are always a tough break, but players are returning from knee injuries faster than ever before.
However, the organization appears to be headed toward a full-fledged rebuild, so it's unclear whether they'll hurry Murray along and try to have him ready for Week 1.
Will Murray be ready for Week 1? Where should you draft Murray in fantasy football? Let's dive in.

Kyler Murray Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Murray (knee) said there is currently no timetable for his return from a torn ACL in mid-December of last season. The 25-year-old signal-caller is taking rehab one day at a time. "Obviously, me being the competitor I am, do I want to miss any time? No," Murray said. "It's not on my mind, but we're not even in August yet. So, I'm taking it one day at a time." That said, it's unclear how much of the 2023 season Murray will miss, but for now, a Week 1 return feels like a longshot.
Cardinals pass-catchers Marquise Brown, Rondale Moore, Trey McBride, Zach Ertz (knee), and others will likely struggle whether Colt McCoy, Clayton Tune, or David Blough is under center to begin the 2023 campaign. For now, fantasy managers should be cautious about drafting Murray, but he could have late-season value if his rushing upside isn't limited by his damaged knee.
When to Draft Kyler Murray in 2023 Fantasy Football
At this point in the offseason, Murray's fantasy average draft position (ADP) is around the QB23 spot in the 13th round. Since Murray is expected to miss at least a chunk of the season, but has never finished lower than QB11 in fantasy points per game through his four-year career – his cost seems appropriate.
For fantasy managers who miss out on the first couple of tiers of quarterbacks, he could be worth stashing as a late-season lotto ticket. When healthy, he provides a true positional advantage at the QB spot.
