Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has put together an excellent NFL career. Hopkins was a first-round pick by the Houston Texans in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Over his seven years in Houston, the superstar receiver had 632 receptions for 8,602 receiving yards and 54 touchdowns. Furthermore, he made the Pro Bowl in four of his final five years with the team.
Houston then traded Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals in 2020. The star receiver had 115 receptions for 1,407 receiving yards and six touchdowns in his first year with the Cardinals. Unfortunately, he has struggled with injuries over the past two years.

Will DeAndre Hopkins Get Traded In The 2023 Offseason?
Hopkins has been at the center of trade rumors over the past several weeks. Arizona is rebuilding, and the veteran receiver doesn’t fit into their long-term plans, given his age and contract.
The star receiver had a no-trade clause in his contract, making things complicated for the Cardinals. However, Hopkins reportedly lost that no-trade clause when he got suspended last year for a PED violation.
Now that Arizona can send the star receiver wherever they want, Hopkins will likely get traded before the start of free agency next month. If the Cardinals trade the star receiver, they could create up to $19.5 million in salary cap space. Meanwhile, the team acquiring the former first-round pick will likely need to work out a long-term contract with Hopkins.
Who Could Trade For DeAndre Hopkins This Offseason?
While the team no longer needs Hopkins’ approval before trading him, the Cardinals will still try to send the receiver to a good situation. One potential landing spot is the Kansas City Chiefs. Ever since they traded way Tyreek Hill last offseason, the Chiefs have been a hot-name landing spot for any wide receiver on the trade block.
However, Kansas City won’t be the only team in the mix for Hopkins. The New England Patriots desperately need a No. 1 wide receiver. Furthermore, Bill Belichick and Hopkins have a good relationship. Unfortunately, they recently hired Bill O’Brien as their offensive coordinator.
Hopkins and O’Brien were in Houston together a few years ago. However, their relationship was far from ideal. If the two can put their history behind them, Hopkins would be an excellent fit in New England.
