San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder) wasn't able to suit up for his team's Week 12 game against the Green Bay Packers. He was a surprise inactive after SF head coach Kyle Shanahan said he was simply dealing with "soreness". That turned out to not be the case.
Shanahan has shown us plenty of times that he's willing to completely ignore the NFL's injury reporting rules. Whether he gets fined for it remains to be seen, but it's frustrating to deal with for fantasy managers.
So will Purdy play tonight?

Brock Purdy Fantasy Football Injury Update
It can be tough to trust any updates coming out of San Fran's organization, but Purdy is expected to play tonight. We don't know the exact details of his injury, but it was never reported to be serious. There could be a small ligament tear, some kind of sprain, or maybe it really was just super sore!

We're still suspicious of the "just sore" explanation, but throwing shoulder injuries aren't typically something even a team like San Francisco would risk re-injuring their star quarterback with. It's looking like a lost season for the team, and they sit at 5-6, with a very tough matchup coming up.
It's probably their last chance to get back in the playoff hunt, though. It would be just like Shanny to send a hobbled Purdy out to play. But only time will tell.
Brock Purdy Fantasy Football Injury Impact
Given rightful mistrust in the org, it's not hard to believe that the third-year pro could still be dealing with pain, stiffness, or soreness. He may not be able to put as much zip on his passes, and we could see a few lame duck throws or a game plan built around shorter passes as a result.
Here is the 49ers final injury report. Six players, including some notable names, declared OUT against Bills. From the sounds of it, QB Brock Purdy (listed as questionable) will start and play. pic.twitter.com/u3udVuHDPx

What may be more impactful are the absences of offensive tackle Trent Williams (ankle), OG Aaron Banks (concussion), and OG Jon Feliciano (knee), who will miss the rest of the season. SF's offensive line had already regressed markedly, and they'll be without their best player. They're now missing three starters. That's awful.
This team will face the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football. A less-than-100% Purdy and a decimated offensive line could lead to bad fantasy days for all 49ers players. It's hard to start any other than tight end George Kittle with confidence this week.
