The head coach carousel is one of the most interesting storylines this early in the NFL offseason with most eliminated from playoff contention. Eight head coaches were fired after the 2023-2024 season, and some notable coaches were let go.
Some of those names included Bill Belichick, Mike Vrabel, and Pete Carroll. These head coaches have been successful for the most part over the years. But a disappointing season for the Patriots, Titans, and Seahawks, respectively, all led to their firing earlier this month.
So, will Belichick, Vrabel, or Carroll coach in 2024? Let's dive in.

Will Bill Belichick Coach In 2024?
There were eight possible spots for Belichick to coach in 2024. But the Raiders, Titans, Chargers, and Patriots have already hired new head coaches, so that leaves just four possible spots remaining. Of those four spots, only the Atlanta Falcons have scheduled an interview with the 71-year-old coach.
Now, there appears to be some interest on both sides, as Belichick has already had two interviews with the Falcons. But Atlanta also appears to be interested in several other coaches, including Vrabel (who met with the team on Wednesday for the second time).
At this point, it seems that if Belichick coaches in 2024, it will be with the Falcons. If they decide to hire someone else, one of the greatest coaches of all time might still be left on the market -- unless another team like the Panthers, Commanders, or Seahawks swoops in.
Will Mike Vrabel Coach In 2024?
Vrabel did a great job with the Titans over the years, which included winning Coach of the Year in 2021. That season, Tennessee went 12-5 and finished with the top seed in the AFC. But the former NFL linebacker has failed to carry his team to the playoffs since, going a combined 13-21 in the past two years.
Opposed to Belichick, Vrabel seems like much more of a hot commodity on the coaching market. He has interviewed with the Los Angeles Chargers and Atlanta Falcons so far and also has an interview set up in Carolina on Thursday.
However, with the Chargers already hiring Jim Harbaugh, he is officially out of the running for that job. As for the Falcons, he met with owner Arthur Blank on Wednesday for his second interview with the team. So, it appears that Atlanta and Carolina are the two likely landing spots (as of now) for Vrabel to coach in 2024.
Will Pete Carroll Coach In 2024?
Carroll was surprisingly let go by the Seahawks after their 9-8 record in 2023. Seattle decided to move the 72-year-old coach into an advisor role following his 14 years as head coach of the team.
However, it appears Carroll still has an interest in being a head coach, and reports have come out that he wants the Chargers coaching gig. That head coaching gig has quickly closed, though, after the team signed Harbaugh officially on Wednesday evening.
The only way that Carroll would have coached this year was the Chargers because that's where his interest was. However, with that now unavailable, he will likely remain with the Seahawks in the advisor role.
