Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson was the eighth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. The rookie was the top running back in this year’s draft class.
Robinson was the first running back drafted in the top 10 of the NFL Draft since Saquon Barkley in 2018. Furthermore, the former Longhorn is only the sixth running back picked in the top 10 over the past 11 years.
More importantly, the previous four running backs drafted in the top 10 of the NFL Draft ended their rookie season as a top-12 fantasy running back.

The former Longhorn had a breakout sophomore season. Robinson had 195 rushing attempts for 1,127 yards and 11 touchdowns that year. More importantly, he had the best season of his career in 2022. The superstar had 258 rushing attempts for 1580 yards and 18 touchdowns last season. Robinson led the Big 12 in rushing yards and touchdowns.

Will Bijan Robinson Be A Top-5 Fantasy Running Back In 2023?
Following his outstanding college career, everyone in the fantasy football community has high expectations for the rookie running back. More importantly, Robinson says the Falcons plan to use him as an “all-around weapon.”
Last year Atlanta was one of the top rushing offenses in the NFL. They earned the fifth-highest rushing grade (90.6) and the best run-blocking grade (83.7) from PFF. More importantly, the Falcons ranked first in rushing attempts, third in yards, and 10th in touchdowns. Furthermore, Tyler Allgeier had 1,035 rushing yards as a rookie. He finished 14th in the NFL last year.
Meanwhile, the team lacks proven pass catchers. Drake London had a solid rookie season. While Kyle Pitts struggled last year, the former Gator was an excellent tight end in 2021. Unfortunately, the Falcons lack options behind the two young receivers. Therefore, fantasy players shouldn’t be surprised if Robinson has 65 or more receptions as a rookie.
Unless the former Longhorn misses significant time, Robinson will be a top-five running back in 2023.
