Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown (hamstring) started 2024 looking like himself, with an elite stat line of 119 yards and a touchdown on just five catches. Brown was targeted 10 times, as a No. 1 receiver should be, and produced another fantastic game yet again.
However, Brown wasn't able to suit up for Week 2 and sat out in the loss to the Falcons. Brown's status is now up in the air, and the dreaded hamstring issues have struck another key player for fantasy.
Is A.J. Brown still hurt or is he healthy now? Will he play in Week 3 against the Saints? Let's dive into an update on his injury and fantasy football outlook.

Will A.J. Brown Play In Week 3?
It's not looking good for Brown's chances to take the field against the Saints. Brown missed practice on both Wednesday and Thursday, and there's little optimism he could make a miraculous turnaround and log a full practice on Friday. Brown most likely won't play in Week 3.

Brown's hamstring injury isn't minor. This is no surprise. Brown himself admitted that he expects to miss at least "a couple of weeks" with his issue, so it's safe to assume he's nowhere near ready to take the field yet.

Hamstring issues are the bane of fantasy managers. It's one of the most commonly recurring injuries in sports. Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins is a perfect example of this, having injured the same hamstring enough to appear on injury reports six times throughout college and the NFL.
A.J. Brown Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlook
Considering that he's almost certain to not play, fantasy managers will need to look for a replacement player. Fellow WR Jahan Dotson probably isn't a good option considering he had just one catch in Week 1. There is no replacing Brown's production.

Most Brown managers likely don't also have Eagles WR2 DeVonta Smith on their rosters, who should receive most of the WR work for them in Week 3 given the team's lack of other good options at WR. Brown managers will need to look to their bench or waivers to find someone who can at least not put up goose eggs.
Brown is an elite player, so when he returns, he's a must-start capable of giving managers week-winning numbers every week. Until he returns, though, his absence is a huge blow and could swing many fantasy matchups.
