Figuring out which teams and players have an incentive to play their best in Week 18 is always a challenge.
It would be nice if we could assume that every player suiting up on Sunday was going to play their usual amount of snaps or give maximum effort, but that simply isn't always the case.
Here are the Week 18 outlooks for three wide receivers who you may be considering for fantasy lineups or even DFS contests on Sunday.
Should I Start Jakobi Meyers for Fantasy Football?
Meyers and the Raiders haven't played meaningful games for a while now, so Sunday's matchup against the Chargers is more of the same for them. However, the Chargers' plans in this game may change based on what the Steelers do against the Bengals. If the Steelers win, then the Chargers can't improve their seeding, and they could rest some players - even on defense.
Either way, Meyers has been consistently good enough since Davante Adams left Vegas to warrant starting in fantasy. Last week, he bounced back from a poor Week 16 showing against Jacksonville by catching five of nine targets for 61 yards and a touchdown.
Wide Receivers this year with a drop rate below 5% and a contested catch rate above 60% on more than 50 targets:
• Amon-Ra St. Brown
• Jakobi Meyers
• Adam Thielen
• Michael Wilson
• Justin Jefferson
• Jordan Addison— Nick Olson (@NickOlsonNFL) January 3, 2025
I'd start Meyers this week, as he should continue to see a high volume of targets. He projects as a WR2.
Should I Start Olamide Zaccheaus for Fantasy Football?
The Commanders have found a valuable weapon on offense in the final few weeks of the season. With injuries to multiple other Washington wideouts paving the way for more playing time, Oladmide Zaccheaus has seized the opportunity and proven that he can be a major asset to Jayden Daniels and this offense.

Zaccheaus has played 69% and 76% of the snaps the last two weeks and led the team in receiving with 70 and 85 yards, respectively. He also has three touchdown catches and a whopping 41 fantasy points (non-PPR). With Washington playing to win this week, fire up Zaccheaus in any format, as he should continue to be heavily involved.
Should I Start Keenan Allen for Fantasy Football?
Allen has come on strong for the Bears in the second half of the season after struggling to make much of an impact in the first 10 weeks. Allen has had four huge games - two against Detroit and two against Minnesota since Week 12 and has been the most reliable option for rookie Caleb Williams of late.

The Bears face the Packers this week and Green Bay is going to be playing to win. Allen struggled against the Packers in their first meeting, and the Packers have enough of a pass rush to give Williams fits. Allen is not an ideal start this week in standard leagues, but in deeper formats, he could be deployed as a WR3/Flex play.

The wide receiver position has an advantage over the running back position in PPR scoring formats, typically. Receivers' main job of catching the football leads to them scoring more points per touch, and those WRs that consistently get high volume can produce great results with a strong floor. Not every WR is like this, though, […]
