The 4-11 Chicago Bears will take on the 8-7 Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football on December 26, and in the final fantasy football matchup in most leagues, it's critical to make informed start-sit decisions here if you have players from either team.
Both teams have plenty of players who have been rostered and started in many fantasy leagues throughout the season. They've had varying degrees of success, but you can't always predict what will happen in the future simply based on what's happened in the past.
So, let's break down Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith, and Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf for Week 17. We'll give you start-sit recommendations for them.
Should I Start Caleb Williams for Fantasy Football?
Williams will face an overall weak Seahawks defense. He's been highly productive for stretches this season, but mostly against extremely incompetent teams and during garbage time. He's a risky player to start, but the upside is there, and he could have a decent day.

The rookie has looked pretty good ... when his team is down big in games that turn out to be blowouts. Still, fantasy football only cares about overall production, and CW has been a decent, yet inconsistent, mid-level QB2 the past five weeks. In very deep leagues and 2QB leagues, he's a fine start.
Should I Start Geno Smith for Fantasy Football?
Smith's upside from earlier in the season appears to be mostly gone. He's only surpassed 20 fantasy points one time since his team's bye in Week 9. In that time, he's thrown five touchdowns and an equal number of picks, completed 30 or more passes just once, and his rushing value has been nearly nonexistent.
That's coincided with him facing a tougher stretch of defenses. After Bears head coach Matt Eberflus was fired, though, their defense has taken a major step back. Smith also has his receivers healthy, so he's right around the mid-level QB2 range with Williams. We recommend the same for him -- only start in very deep or 2QB leagues.
Should I Start DK Metcalf for Fantasy Football?
He simply hasn't been the same since his knee injury. He went from inconsistent with huge boom weeks to inconsistent without them after he returned from the MCL injury that kept him out of Week 8 and Week 9. He's now in the WR3/flex range, unfortunately. And Seattle's offensive line isn't helping.

No. 9 simply doesn't have time to throw very often, and it's easy to see why. Seahawks general manager John Schneider refuses to give him a competent set of pass-blockers. This outcome was incredibly predictable going into the season, and with center Connor Williams having retired, it's been even worse.
Metcalf is a decent start as a WR3/flex in leagues with 12 or more teams.
