Can you believe it’s already Week 16, and we’re making start/sit decisions for the fantasy football semi-finals? If you are still playing for a championship, congratulations! Regardless, some of you may be playing for third place or in the consolation bracket, avoiding the league penalty for last place, and sparing yourself of any public humiliation.
This article will closely examine some interesting players and their matchups this week, including Brian Thomas Jr., Jalen McMillan, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
I’ll highlight recent statistics for these players, share my recommendations for Week 16, and evaluate whether they should be in your starting lineups.
Should I Start Brian Thomas Jr. for Fantasy Football?
If I told you that Jacksonville Jaguars rookie wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. was WR6 in the 2024 season, you might laugh at me. I am here to tell you that Thomas Jr. has produced a 64/956/8 stat line thus far, qualifying him as a WR1. Considering he has had an injured Trevor Lawrence and Mac Jones under center throughout the season, that is super impressive.
Thomas Jr. tore up the New York Jets defense, finishing with ten catches for 105 yards and two touchdowns on 14 targets. The 14 targets were first on the team, and with the injuries to Christian Kirk and Evan Engram, Thomas Jr. should continue to see that type of volume moving forward, considering the Jaguars (3-11) are typically playing from behind and need to pass.

He plays against the Las Vegas Raiders this week, and fantasy managers can confidently start him in their lineups in Week 16. RotoBaller ranks him as our WR10 in Week 16.
Should I Start Jalen McMillan for Fantasy Football?
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Jalen McMillan has been sitting on the waiver wire throughout most of the season until recently. He has recently posted 15-plus fantasy points in back-to-back outings and has built a good rapport with quarterback Baker Mayfield, seeing a 24% target share in Week 14 and a 22% target share last week.
That is the type of target share fantasy managers typically look for in our WR2/flex position. McMillan has stepped into Chris Godwin's (ankle) role to become a solid contributor.

McMillan still needs to prove more to garnish a consistent starting spot in fantasy managers' lineups; however, if you are in a pinch with injuries or looking for some production in three wide receiver leagues, McMillan is a good look. RotoBaller ranks him as our WR35 in Week 16.
Should I Start Jaxon Smith-Njigba for Fantasy Football?
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught 10 of 12 targets for 83 yards in a Week 15 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Smith-Njigba was one of the lone bright spots for the Seahawks in this game. Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith (knee) went down with an injury early in the second half of that game, and it all went downhill for the Seahawks after that.
On the season, JSN has been excellent for fantasy managers. Putting up WR1 numbers on the season, outperforming fellow wide receiver DK Metcalf, and a steal based on his Average Draft Position (ADP). As long as Smith plays on Sunday, fantasy managers can confidently start Smith-Njigba. If Smith doesn't play, Smith-Njigba would still be a top 25 play, but his ceiling may be capped.

Smith-Njigba will go up against the Minnesota Vikings defense, which has given the most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. RotoBaller ranks him as our WR14 in Week 16.
