There are many reasons why receivers' production can fall off during the season. Whether it's due to injury issues, more target competition, old age, or the offense completely collapsing because it's terrible, there are plenty of factors that play a part in a decline in production.

It can also be difficult to know whether players are fully recovered from their ailments (they aren't, usually), and whether the injuries will continue to negatively impact their production. It's also hard to predict age fall-offs and offenses turning into complete garbage with precision.

Let's look at three players that are dealing with at least one of these situations and whether you should start them in Week 15.

Should I Start Ladd McConkey for Fantasy Football?

Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Ladd McConkey (knee/shoulder) returned to practice in a limited fashion on Wednesday. He wasn't able to play in Week 14 due to his maladies, and his status for Week 15 still isn't certain. He's had some extra rest, but we don't know yet if he'll suit up.

If he does play, we recommend starting him. He's an elite route-runner and light years better than any other pass-catcher on his team. It's not particularly close, either. He's a WR2/WR3 on an offense severely lacking other weapons and should command an impressive target share if he takes the field.

Should I Start Garrett Wilson for Fantasy Football?

New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson hauled in seven of his 10 targets for 114 yards against the Miami Dolphins in Week 14. NY had more success on offense than they usually do, and even though they lost the game, they were able to sustain drives and score consistently, and a rising tide lifts all boats.

His production problems are not his fault. Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has played terrible football this season, and many of the problems with the offense rest on him, the poor offensive line play, and bad play-calling. Rodgers is the main culprit, but he isn't going anywhere.

This makes Wilson a heavily matchup-dependent fantasy option. Luckily, he'll face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 15. We recommend starting him. There's a chance he doesn't get the targets he deserves, but the Jags have a historically bad pass defense, so it wouldn't be surprising if they got shredded. The Wilson/McConkey start-sit choice is a coin flip, but we lean toward Wilson.

Should I Start DeAndre Hopkins for Fantasy Football?

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has been targeted 18 times in the past two weeks and caught four passes for 90 yards in Week 13 and four passes for 32 yards and a touchdown in Week 14. We'd be happier if he had a better catch rate, but those are solid numbers nonetheless.

We also don't like his recent dip in playing time, as he's played less than 60% of the team's offensive snaps in the past four contests. But he gets an easy matchup against the Cleveland Browns this week after facing two teams that were solid against outside receivers.

He's a decent WR3/FLEX option, though you're probably better off starting McConkey or Wilson if you're stuck choosing between any set of two including DHop.
