Fantasy football isn’t an easy game to play. Sometimes, fantasy players must make difficult lineup decisions, especially in deeper leagues.
No one expected to be starting Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Devaughn Vele, or Jaylen Warren a few weeks ago. However, all three are potential flex options in Week 13.
Which flex is the best option for fantasy players this week? Let’s break it down.
Should I Start Marquez Valdes-Scantling For Fantasy Football?
Valdes-Scantling has been outstanding lately. The veteran wide receiver has five receptions on seven targets for 196 receiving yards, three touchdowns, and 40.1 half-point PPR fantasy points over his past two contests. He had at least 87 receiving yards, a touchdown, and 15.7 fantasy points in both games.

The speedy wide receiver has become Derek Carr’s top option with Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) out for the year. Valdes-Scantling is an appealing high-upside flex option against the Los Angeles Rams. They have surrendered seven receiving touchdowns to wide receivers over the past five weeks.
Should I Start Devaughn Vele For Fantasy Football?
Vele was a feel-good training camp story, making the Denver Broncos’ 53-man roster. However, the rookie has become Bo Nix’s No. 2 wide receiver behind Courtland Sutton. Vele has averaged 4.7 receptions on six targets for 61.7 receiving yards and 10.5 half-point PPR fantasy points per game over his past three contests.
Furthermore, he scored his first career NFL touchdown in Week 10 against the Kansas City Chiefs. The rookie has an appealing matchup on Monday night against the Cleveland Browns. They have surrendered 30.7 fantasy points per game to wide receivers, the fifth-most in the league. Vele is one of my favorite flex plays in Week 13.

Should I Start Jaylen Warren For Fantasy Football?
Warren struggled with injuries earlier this season, forcing him to miss some game action. However, he has played well since the team’s Week 9 bye, averaging 11.3 rushing attempts for 50.7 yards and 10.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Furthermore, Warren had his first rushing touchdown of the year last week.

Unfortunately, he is still the No. 2 running back behind Najee Harris, limiting his fantasy upside. Furthermore, he faces a Cincinnati Bengals defense that has held running backs to under 67 rushing yards in two of their past three games.
