Who Plays on Monday Night Football in Week 15?
The Philadelphia Eagles travel to Seattle to play the Seattle Seahawks. The game will air on ABC and ESPN, and it starts at 8:15 p.m. EST.
The Eagles are 10-3 and currently lead the NFC East, but they are teetering right now after losing each of their last two games. Philadelphia will make the playoffs but would drastically benefit from a victory on Monday night in order to solidify their position atop the NFC East. One key Eagles storyline prior to kickoff is the status of Jalen Hurts (illness), who is listed as questionable.
On the other side of the field, the Seahawks find themselves desperately scratching and clawing to stay alive in the NFC. They started the season 6-3 but have since lost four consecutive games, dropping to below .500 and falling out of the playoff picture for the time being. Just like the Eagles, the Seahawks are dealing with a quarterback injury of their own. Geno Smith (groin) is listed as questionable but reportedly faces an "uphill battle" to play, which puts Drew Lock on track to start for the second week in a row.
Who Will Win on Monday Night Football in Week 15?
The Philadelphia Eagles are currently three-point favorites on Monday Night Football. This margin is small enough that oddsmakers could realistically envision either team winning.
Eight of the Eagles' 10 wins this year have come by at least three points, so the margin of victory for this game does feel somewhat small. With that said, a relatively closer, more balanced game is certainly possible given that the Seahawks are the home team and Hurts' availability is in flux.
It should be noted that while the Seahawks only have two home losses this year, both did come by at least three points. Therefore, if Hurts is able to suit up on Monday night, bettors may be tempted to pick the Eagles on the moneyline or the spread.
What Are the Playoff Implications of Monday Night Football in Week 15?
The Eagles clinched a playoff berth on Sunday afternoon, letting other teams do the dirty work. They statistically secured a spot in the playoffs after the Vikings lost, the Packers lost, the Falcons lost, the 49ers won, and the Lions won. Going forward, the Eagles will set their sights on the division title and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. While neither of those feats can be clinched on Monday night, they can inch closer with a win, which would push them to 11-3 on the year.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks are teetering right on the edge of playoff eligibility. While they're listed 14th in PFF's latest power rankings, the tool only gives them a 31 percent chance to make the playoffs. Currently possessing the ninth-best record in the NFC, Seattle doesn't control its own destiny but rather needs help from other teams in order to secure a berth. Of course, getting a win would help their cause more than anything else.
