The Los Angeles Dodgers are currently 35-26 and in second place in the NL West division. Injuries to starting pitchers have had an effect on the Dodgers' season so far, and their bullpen has also suffered due to them.
On Tuesday, June 6, the Dodgers lost 9-8 to the Cincinnati Reds, during which they gave up three runs in the ninth inning. Caleb Ferguson, who was assigned as the closer for this game, had a dismal performance. As a result, there has been a growing concern among the franchise's fan base regarding their closer.

Although Ferguson was the closer in the loss to the Reds, he is not the team's designated player for that position. In this piece we will discuss who is the Dodgers closer, and his impact on the fantasy managers.
Los Angeles Dodgers Current Closer
Evan Phillips is currently the Los Angeles Dodgers' designated closer. The 28-year-old reliever has been pretty good so far this season and is a reliable option for his team. For the season, he is 1-1 with a 1.99 ERA, 26 Ks, and seven saves in 23 appearances.
Behind Phillips in the closer role are Brusdar Graterol and Caleb Ferguson. Graterol is 2-2 for the season while having a 1.82 ERA, 21Ks and three saves in 26 appearances. Ferguson was 3-0 heading into the game against the Reds, but due to his poor performance, he now has a 3.38 ERA with 25 Ks and two saves this season in 25 appearances.
Dodgers Closing Pitcher Fantasy Outlook
As stated earlier, Evan Phillips has been sensational for the Dodgers this season. He is a good option for fantasy managers, and until the reigning NL West champions don't add another closer, Phillips will be their go-to guy.
Phillips has a 1.17 ERA, six strikeouts, and a 0.65 WHIP in his last seven appearances, allowing only three hits. Given how effectively the Dodgers start to play as a team as the season progresses, he is expected to rack up some significant fantasy points for the managers who have him in their lineups.
