The Washington Commanders had an awful 2023 season. They ended the year with a 4-13 record, the second-worst in the NFL behind the Chicago Bears.
Washington started the season playing well, earning back-to-back wins in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals and Week 2 against the Denver Broncos. However, they lost 10 of their final 11 games, including an eight-game losing streak to end the year.
While the team had an awful 2023 season, they came away with the second pick in the NFL Draft. After finishing last in the division, the Commanders will have a slightly easier schedule than the rest of the NFC East in 2024. Let’s look at who they play next season.

Who Do The Washington Commanders Play At Home Next Season?
The NFC teams will get the extra home game in 2024, meaning Washington will face nine teams at FedEx Field next year. They will face their three NFC East division rivals. However, the team is most looking forward to the matchups against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Last year, the Commanders nearly defeated the Eagles in both contests. Unfortunately, the team had no answer for Jalen Hurts. The superstar quarterback had 319 passing yards and two touchdowns in the game in Philadelphia. Then, he had 319 passing yards and four touchdowns a few weeks later at FedEx Field.

Washington will also face the Chicago Bears, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, and Tennessee Titans at home in 2024. Only the Steelers and Browns made the playoffs last season. Meanwhile, the other four teams have top-10 picks in the upcoming NFL Draft, meaning the Commanders should win some of these games next year.
Who Do The Washington Commanders Play On The Road Next Season?
Like every season, the Commanders will face each NFC East rival on the road in 2024. They also have matchups on the road against the Baltimore Ravens, New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals, Cincinnati Bengals, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Last year, Washington only faced one of these teams – the Cardinals. They came away with the 20-16 Week 1 victory over the NFC West team, giving Josh Harris his first regular-season victory as the team’s owner. Unfortunately, that win accounted for 25% of the Commanders’ total for the 2023 season. Hopefully, things will be better in 2024.
