The New England Patriots will enter the 2024 season looking to win more games. The Patriots and head coach Bill Belichick mutually parted ways after the year, which paved the way for Jerod Mayo to become the team's new coach.
It was surely a disappointing year for the Patriots following a 4-13 record. Their 4-13 record was tied with the Arizona Cardinals and Washington Commanders for the second-worst in the NFL. However, with a last-place finish in the AFC East, New England should have a lighter schedule in 2024.
So, who do the Patriots face in 2024? How difficult is their 2024 schedule?

Who Do the New England Patriots Face in 2024?
While we don't know who the Patriots will play in Week 1, we do know the opponents they will play in 2024. New England will have eight home games and nine road games next year. Three of those home games and three of those road games will come against the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, and Miami Dolphins.
Outside of those six division games, the Patriots will have matchups against the entire AFC South (Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts, and Tennessee Titans) and the entire NFC West (San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, and Arizona Cardinals).

New England will also face the fourth-place finisher in the AFC West and AFC North (Los Angeles Chargers and Cincinnati Bengals) as well as the last-place finisher in the NFC North (Chicago Bears). Those 17 opponents round out the Patriots' schedule in 2024.
How Difficult is the Patriots' 2024 Schedule?
Despite having a fourth-place schedule in 2024, the Patriots have plenty of difficult matchups. For starters, they have six games against AFC East opponents, which might be the toughest division in football.
New England's schedule after those games is surely no easy thing. The Patriots have to play the entire AFC South against several young quarterbacks like Anthony Richardson, C.J. Stroud, and Trevor Lawrence. They also have to play the entire NFC West, which features an elite 49ers team, an electric Rams offense, and a solid Seahawks squad. Even the Cardinals should be better in 2024.

Then, the last place teams they have to play are Justin Herbert and the Chargers, Joe Burrow, and the Bengals, and an up-and-coming Bears team. New England likely plays one of the toughest fourth-place schedules in recent memory.
