Veteran wide receiver Julio Jones is a free agent this offseason. The future Hall of Famer was the sixth overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons.
Jones had a productive rookie season, totaling 54 receptions on 95 targets for 959 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Over the next two years, the former Alabama star receiver had 120 receptions on 187 targets for 1,778 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in 21 games. However, he became arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL starting in 2014. Jones had six consecutive seasons with at least 1,394 receiving yards from 2014-2019.
The superstar receiver asked for a trade following the 2020 season. After 10 years with the Falcons, Atlanta traded Jones to the Tennessee Titans. Unfortunately, Jones only lasted one year with the Titans before the team released him.

What Did Julio Jones Accomplish in 2022?
After spending a few months on the open market, the veteran wide receiver signed a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jones was chasing after a ring, as the Buccaneers had won the Super Bowl two years earlier with Tom Brady.
Unfortunately, the former Alabama star had a minimal impact on the team. He had 24 receptions on 43 targets for 299 receiving yards in 10 games last season. Furthermore, he set career lows in several receiving categories. While his impact on the team was minimal, Jones did have two receiving touchdowns. He finished fifth on the team in that category.
Which Teams Could Sign Julio Jones?
While the veteran wide receiver was once one of the best, Jones won’t have many suitors this offseason. The Buccaneers have already ruled out a possible reunion in 2023.
Many teams won’t be interested in the future Hall of Fame wide receiver because of his age, injury history, and lack of recent production. Jones needs a part-time role, as he can’t hold up for 17 games. Therefore, his options are further limited.
One potential landing spot is the Buffalo Bills. Stefon Diggs is one of the top wide receivers in the NFL. Meanwhile, Gabe Davis is a young player with upside. However, Buffalo’s passing attack has struggled in the playoffs over the past two years. Jones might only be able to give the team 10 meaningful snaps a game. Yet, they could be significant snaps.
