Veteran running back Darrell Henderson Jr. was a third-round pick by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2019 NFL Draft. The former Memphis star ended his college career with 431 rushing attempts for 3,545 yards and 36 touchdowns.
The third-round pick had a limited rookie year playing behind Todd Gurley. Henderson had only 39 rushing attempts for 147 yards and zero touchdowns as a rookie. He played better in 2020, totaling 138 rushing attempts for 624 yards and five touchdowns, a career-high.
However, his best year was 2021. Henderson had 149 rushing attempts for 688 rushing yards and five touchdowns, all career highs. Furthermore, he had 29 receptions on 40 targets for 176 receiving yards and three touchdowns, all career bests. Unfortunately, his career has gone downhill since 2021.

What Did Darrell Henderson Jr. Accomplish In 2022?
Last year Henderson played in 10 games with the Rams. He had 70 rushing attempts for 283 yards and three touchdowns. The former third-round pick also had 17 receptions on 22 targets for 102 receiving yards last season.
Unfortunately, the veteran running back didn’t end the season in Los Angeles. The team waived him during the season. However, he was claimed by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Yet, the former third-round pick never saw the field in a Jaguars uniform. Instead, Jacksonville waived Henderson after a few weeks with the team.
Which Teams Could Sign Darrell Henderson Jr.?
Henderson was part of a deep free agent running back class this year. While most of the top running backs have signed new contracts, the former Memphis star is still available on the open market.
Unfortunately, the former third-round pick doesn’t have many potential suitors. Henderson had a disappointing year in 2022. More importantly, he was waived by two teams in under a month’s timeline.
The former Memphis star will likely have to wait until after the 2023 NFL Draft to find a landing spot. Teams would rather draft a Day 3 prospect over signing the veteran running back. However, there are some possible landing spots for Henderson.
One potential landing spot is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The NFC South division champions released Leonard Fournette earlier this offseason, leaving Rachaad White as the lead back. However, the depth behind him lacks starting experience, which is something Henderson can provide.
