The 2023 NFL Draft is less than three days away. While everyone is excited about the first round on Thursday night, the draft is a three-day event. Therefore, fans should do their homework on the second and third-day prospects too.
This year the wide receiver draft class lacks the superstar names from the 2021 draft class. While there is no Ja’Marr Chase in this year’s class, there are several talented prospects.
While Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Jordan Addison, and Zay Flowers are the top three wide receivers this year, don’t discount the depth at the position. One Day 2 wide receiver is SMU’s Rashee Rice.

What Did Rashee Rice Accomplish In College?
The former Mustang wide receiver is a talented prospect. Unfortunately, Rice has been criticized for the level of talent he faced in the American conference. However, he was nearly unstoppable during his college career.
Rice had at least 670 receiving yards each of the past three seasons, including his first 1,000-plus yard season in 2022. Furthermore, the former Mustang ended his college career with 233 receptions for 3,111 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns.
More importantly, Rice had a breakout season in 2022. He had 96 receptions for 1,355 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in 12 games. His 96 receptions were the fifth most in the entire country, while his 1,355 receiving yards were the second most. The former Mustang also had an 85.9 PFF grade last season.
Which Team Could Pick Rashee Rice In The 2023 NFL Draft?
While he won’t be a first-round pick, fans should expect Rice to be a popular Day 2 selection. The former Mustang has met with several teams over the past month. He recently had a visit with the Green Bay Packers.
Rice has a fair shot of landing with the Packers. The team has two mid-second-round draft picks following their trade with the New York Jets. Furthermore, Green Bay lost Allen Lazard in free agency, while Randall Cobb won't return next season. While Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs are a talented pair of young players, expect the Packers to use a Day 2 pick on a wide receiver.
