USC wide receiver Jordan Addison led the team in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns while catching passes from Heisman winner Caleb Williams in coach Lincoln Riley’s first season in SoCal.

The 2021 Biletnikoff Award winner transferred to USC following his sensational sophomore season at Pitt, where he caught passes from current Steelers quarterback and another former Heisman finalist in Kenny Pickett.

While Addison has had the benefit of great quarterback play throughout his college career, the star has proven to have all of the traits of an NFL receiver and hopes to hear his name called on Day 1 of the 2023 NFL Draft.

What Did Jordan Addison Do In His College Career?

Addison burst onto the scene as a freshman, leading the team in both receiving yards (666) and receiving touchdowns (4) in a COVID-shortened season.

He caught fire after an offseason of building chemistry with Pickett and was named the nation’s best receiver by receiving the 2021 Biletnikoff Award. Addison caught 100 passes for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns in his sophomore campaign.

Addison opted to transfer after the 2021 season and was between USC and Texas before ultimately opting to join forces with Caleb Williams and Lincoln Riley at USC.

The Trojans had a great season in which Addison shined with 59 catches for 875 yards and eight touchdowns, but ultimately fell short in both the PAC-12 Championship and the Sugar Bowl.

Addison is joined at the top of the board by prospects Quentin Johnston and Jaxon Smith-Njigba. One of the three is likely to be the first receiver off the board as we approach draft season, and all three have been raved about for different reasons.

While Addison’s measurables won’t blow you away (6-0, 175, 4.4 40-time), his consistency is everything an NFL general manager and coach seek in a WR1.

Addison has showcased elite route-running skills, a quick-twitch ability, sure hands, and the potential to break off a big play at any time with the ball in his hands.

He has put numbers up in two different systems already in his collegiate career and led his team in receiving all three seasons. Addison is comparable to Stefon Diggs in terms of his game and the impact he can have in the NFL throughout his career as he develops. 

As far as where he is drafted, the possibilities are limitless for Addison. He could hear his name called as early as the top 10 and as late as the end of the first round. The pre-draft process will likely bring more clarity as to where he will end up being selected.

From a fantasy perspective, it would be best for him to land on a receiver-needy team where he immediately steps in as a high-volume target. Some options here include the Carolina Panthers, Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, and Baltimore Ravens.

The Los Angeles Chargers are another interesting destination, especially given the rumblings that Keenan Allen could be a cap casualty. 

Being tied to quarterback Justin Herbert as a top target would catapult Addison up fantasy draft boards as he enters his rookie season. 

While it is still early in the draft process, Addison has a great chance to come in and make an immediate impact wherever he lands. Fantasy managers should keep their eyes on him entering the 2023 season.
