The NFL playoffs have gotten off to a boring start. Five of the six matchups during Wild Card Weekend were blowouts.
However, the Divisional Round of the playoffs is where the games become close and competitive. Unfortunately, 24 teams already know they won’t be Super Bowl champions this year. Furthermore, there are 12 NFL franchises that never have won a Super Bowl.
Could one of those 12 teams bring home their first trophy this year? Let’s dive into it.

Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals are the oldest team in league history to not have a Super Bowl victory. Their only appearance came in 2009, losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Unfortunately, that won’t change this year after missing the playoffs.
Atlanta Falcons
Many thought the Falcons could make a Super Bowl run after signing Kirk Cousins in the offseason. The team missed the playoffs, keeping its Super Bowl drought going. Hopefully, the team can eventually win one with Michael Penix Jr. under center.
Buffalo Bills
Buffalo made four consecutive Super Bowls from 1991 to 1994, losing every matchup. However, it has a real chance to win this year, especially with Josh Allen playing at an all-time level.

Carolina Panthers
No one expected the Panthers to win the Super Bowl this year. They have been to the big game twice in franchise history, losing to the New England Patriots in 2004 and Denver Broncos in 2016.
Cincinnati Bengals
Many wanted the Bengals to make the playoffs after their late-season push. Unfortunately, they fell just short of making the postseason, missing out on the playoffs for the second consecutive year.
Cleveland Browns
The Browns have been one of the worst franchises since rejoining the NFL in 1999. They are more likely to land the top pick in the draft than make the playoffs. Furthermore, Cleveland hasn’t made the AFC Championship Game since the late 1980s, facing John Elway in every matchup.
Detroit Lions
Do you believe in miracles? The Lions were founded in 1930 but have never made a Super Bowl. Yet, they are the betting favorites to win it all this year.

Houston Texans
Last week, the Texans were underdogs to the Los Angeles Chargers despite playing at home. While the franchise has only been around for 22 years, it has had some playoff success but never made it to the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, that seems unlikely, with Houston facing the Kansas City Chiefs this week.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville made the AFC Championship Game in 2017, only to blow a double-digit lead to the New England Patriots. The Jaguars have had almost as bad luck as the Cleveland Browns making the playoffs. Therefore, it will be a while before the team lifts the Lombardi Trophy.
Los Angeles Chargers
Made had high hopes for the Chargers in their first year under Jim Harbaugh. Unfortunately, Los Angeles got blown out in the Wild Card round by the Houston Texans. It made the Super Bowl in 1995, its only appearance in franchise history.
Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings looked like Super Bowl contenders earlier this season. However, they struggled to end the year, including in their playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Minnesota hasn’t come close to making a Super Bowl, with its last chance coming in 2018.

Tennessee Titans
Older fans will remember the lone time the Titans went to the Super Bowl. While they came up a yard short against the St. Louis Rams in 1999, many thought Tennessee would make it back to the big game again. Unfortunately, that never happened. It will be a while before the Titans return to the Super Bowl.
