The New York Jets' season ended quickly once Aaron Rodgers was injured four plays into his debut with the team. Despite a year of having a championship-caliber defense, the league-worst quarterback play led the Jets to finish with seven wins, outside of the playoff picture for the 13th straight season.
On the optimistic side, Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall are two of the best playmakers at skill positions in all of football, and they are both in their early 20s. Rodgers flirted with a comeback all season in 2023 and made it clear he plans on playing in 2024 to give fans hope. However, their offensive line has to improve to allow him to stay healthy all year.
What picks do the Jets have in the 2024 NFL Draft? Who could the Jets take with their first-round pick? Let's take a look.

What Draft Picks Do The New York Jets Own?
The Jets have five draft picks before the NFL awards 32 compensatory picks during the offseason. New York’s first-round pick is 10th overall. Four of their picks land in the first two days of the draft within the first 120 picks.
New York has a pick in the first and third rounds, two in the fourth round, and one in the sixth round. Their second-round pick was sent to the Packers in the Rodgers trade. They also acquired Jacob Martin from Denver with a fourth-round pick this year and lost their fifth-round pick in that trade, and Baltimore traded Chuck Clark to the Jets for their seventh-round pick this year.

With five players leaving and them signing just Mecole Hardman Jr. and Allen Lazard, the Jets are in a position to get three compensatory picks. Both are likely to be Day 3 picks in the sixth and seventh rounds.
Who Could The New York Jets Draft In The First Round?
New York's offensive line was a significant part of their issues in 2023, and very few quarterbacks would be able to produce in that environment. Left tackle and former first-round pick Mekhi Becton is set to be an unrestricted free agent this year after a poor showing last year. In all likelihood, the Jets will look to take an offensive tackle to pair with Alijah Vera-Tucker and help shore up pass protection.
Lucky for the Jets, this draft is very heavy with offensive line talent, and they should get the first or second one off the board. Joe Alt from Notre Dame, Olumuyiwa Fashanu from Penn State, Taliese Fuaga from Oregon State, and JC Latham from Alabama are all the most likely candidates. Fashanu and Alt both played on the left side in college if they were specific about keeping them in their natural position.
“There is chatter the New York Jets are already targeting Oregon State offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga with the 10th pick of the 2024 NFL Draft.”

If a talent like Malik Nabers or Brock Bowers slides to 10, the Jets could entertain adding another playmaker for Rodgers. However, spending the offseason investing in rebuilding the offensive line seems like the most important step for the Jets to take a step into the playoffs in 2024.
