The Miami Dolphins ended the 2022 season with a 9-8 record and made the playoffs for the first time since 2016. However, their season was full of up-and-down runs.
Miami started the year with a three-game winning streak, including victories over the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills. However, they then lost three in a row before going on a five-game winning streak against five non-playoff teams.
Unfortunately, the Dolphins lost five straight games before an 11-6 victory in Week 18 against the New York Jets secured them a playoff spot.

What Draft Picks Do The Miami Dolphins Own?
Following their first-round exit from the playoffs, Miami would have the 21st overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. However, the league stripped the team of their first-round pick following an investigation into whether the organization violated NFL tampering rules with Tom Brady and Sean Payton.
The Dolphins owned the San Francisco 49ers' first-round pick from the Trey Lance deal a few years ago. However, they sent it to the Denver Broncos for Bradley Chubb at the trade deadline.
While Miami won’t have a first-round pick for the second straight year, the team still has five total picks, including three in the top 85 overall selections.
According to the NFL Draft trade chart, the Dolphins could combine their second-round pick and pair of third-round selections and move into the last first-round if they wanted.
Who Could The Miami Dolphins Target In The 2022 NFL Draft?
Without a top-50 pick and only five selections in the draft, Miami will need to do an excellent job finding value in the middle rounds. The team doesn’t have a ton of holes to address on paper. However, the one position fantasy players would love to see the Dolphins upgrade is running back.
Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. had 1,283 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns in 24 combined games for Miami this year. Both running backs are free agents in March, and the Dolphins should look to upgrade the position with a rookie.
Texas’ Bijan Robinson is the top running back in the draft class, but he won’t make it to the team’s second-round pick. However, Alabama’s Jahmyr Gibbs could be available when the Dolphins are on the clock with the 51st overall selection. His vision and ability to set up blocks would make him a fantasy star in Miami.
If the team decides to wait until the third round to draft a running back, some potential targets could include Zach Evans and Sean Tucker.
