The Jaguars shocked the world in the 2022 season with their incredible midseason turnaround and their unlikely comeback victory against the Chargers in the playoffs. Many expected them to be one of the best teams in the AFC in 2023.
Trevor Lawrence and company had a shaky 1-2 start to the season, but they won five straight before their bye week and they were 8-3 after Week 12, but then they did a complete 180 from last year.
The Jags lost five of their last six and failed to make the playoffs. Due to this collapse, Mark Brunell, their first-ever QB, remains the only Jags starting quarterback to make the playoffs more than once. Lawrence will hope to break that tradition in 2024.

What Draft Picks Do The Jacksonville Jaguars Own?
The Jaguars are projected to have nine picks this year, which includes the two compensatory picks that they'll receive when the NFL distributes 32 compensatory picks during the offseason. They have two picks in the first 48 selections.

Assuming that they won't trade their first-round pick, this will be the first time that the Jags have the 17th overall pick of the draft.
Who Could The Jacksonville Jaguars Draft In The First Round?
The Jaguars need to fix these three positions as soon as possible if they want to contend: wideout and both the offensive and defensive interior lines. Also, they're no longer in the position to draft "project" players. They need players who can help them win now.
Jags fans see a center this good to come out in the draft since Tyler Linderbaum and said nah let’s go get a corner because we have a new shiny D Coordinator lol.
Would literally draft him at 17. https://t.co/xxFk7iwdNi

If the Jags want a WR, then LSU's BrIan Thomas Jr. would be a solid option. If they want to fix their interior O-Line, they can pick Duke's Graham Barton or Oregon's center Jackson Powers-Johnson. And as for the interior D-Line, drafting Miami's Leonard Taylor III could fix their issues quickly.
Jaguars fans should pay close attention to the free agency period, as their decisions in free agency will likely decide which position they'll target with their 17th overall pick.
